Purple’s the colour in the Greenside Up household so I had to plant some Scarlet Curly Kale (which isn’t scarlet at all)…We’re real fans of this hardy veg and I’ve written several posts on growing and cooking kale. Once steamed the colour dims but the flavour is mild enough that even the fussy eaters will eat a leaf or two.
Mmmm more purple Dee? I adore these purple veg and they look very fetching with an accessory of Beetroot? Almost too gorgeous to eat but also great to dye wool. I'm in the purple club too……..
Hi… Just picked my first purple kohl rabi today.. Looks too pretty to eat tho..:-)

Harvested the first of my purple curly kalle today. I usually grow the bog standard green stuff, but fancied a change and something to brighten the plot up during winter.
They're a really beautiful colour, if only I'd put in some rainbow chard as well…
