Mr G was sleeping off a night shift and my\u00a0own\u00a0dad is in the UK on this Father’s Day,\u00a0so four very hungry under 13’s devoured these in seconds this morning\u00a0..\u00a0(just\u00a0made\u00a0a second\u00a0batch for the hungry dad).<\/em>\u00a0I’ll be\u00a0heating up the pan again\u00a0later this\u00a0week\u00a0when my\u00a0folks\u00a0visit…… The recipe was taken from River Cottage Everyday cookbook by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall<\/a>, although he suggests wholemeal flour I’ve used plain as that’s all that was in the cupboard.<\/p>\n (makes 20 + or the plate full above depending on your own sizes<\/em>)<\/p>\n 250g flour – Hugh suggests self-raising wholemeal but plain works just as well Method<\/strong><\/p>\n Put some oil in a frying pan and wipe around with kitchen towel so it’s well-greased. Prepare a plate with some tin foil so that you can build up\u00a0a pile of drop scones, but covering them as you go to keep them warm.<\/p>\n
\nThese drop scones are so quick and easy,\u00a0loved by all and make a delicious quick snack .. they’re not just for breakfast treats.<\/p>\nIngredients for Drop Scone Recipe<\/h2>\n
\nPinch of baking powder
\nPinch of sea salt
\n25g caster sugar
\n2 medium free range eggs
\n275ml milk
\n50g melted butter
\nOil for greasing the pan<\/p>\n
